Country Lead, Customs and Foreign Trade
To join our team in either Linnavuori (Nokia) or Suolahti (Äänekoski)
We are seeking a Logistics/Foreign Trade professional with creativity and independence to join our team as a Country Lead for Customs and Foreign Trade in Finland. As the Country Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations across our Finnish sites, while also spearheading the development of our national customs organization in line with EME guidelines.
What You Can Expect:
- Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to all customs and foreign trade regulations for Linnavuori, Suolahti, Tesoma, and other Finnish sites as required.
- National Customs Organization: Develop and establish a national customs organization within the framework of EME guidelines.
- Key Contact: Act as the primary contact person for Finnish authorities, service providers, and colleagues, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
- SAP Key User: Serve as the key user for customs applications, providing administrative and operational support.
- Technical Administration: Manage the technical administration of customs and compliance applications, ensuring efficient processes and systems.
- Process Optimization: Analyze, control, and optimize existing customs processes in Finland, and collaborate with the Manager of Foreign Trade Compliance EME in designing new processes.
- Guideline Development: Revise and develop guidelines for customs and foreign trade activities in Finnish locations, with the goal of achieving Europe-wide standardization in cooperation with the Manager of Foreign Trade Compliance EME.
- Monitoring System Implementation: Develop and implement a monitoring system for customs and foreign trade-related activities at Finnish locations, aiming for Europe-wide standardization, in collaboration with the Manager of Foreign Trade Compliance EME.
- Procedural and Instructional Documentation: Prepare and update procedural, work, and organizational instructions, working closely with the Manager of Foreign Trade Compliance EME to achieve Europe-wide standardization.
- Technical Responsibility: Take technical responsibility for the customs and foreign trade area in Finland, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
- Specialized Areas: Handle tasks related to free circulation, inward processing, export, foreign trade master data, brokerage, and provide internal training within your area of responsibility.
- Audit Support: Serve as the contact person for foreign trade and customs audits at the Finnish locations.
- Intrastat Reporting Support: Assist with Intrastat reporting for the Finnish locations.
- Master Data Maintenance: Monitor and maintain customs tariff, dual use, and origin-related master data.
- Import/Export Supervision: Oversee and monitor import and export activities, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.
What You Bring:
- Professional Background: Completed training as a forwarding agent, studies with a focus on logistics/foreign trade, or similar qualifications related to foreign trade.
- Customs Clearance Experience: Experience in operational customs clearance, including knowledge of procedures, prohibitions, restrictions, FTA's, and inward processing.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with European customs law and relevant foreign trade legislation, including statistical reporting requirements.
- Technical Skills: Confident handling of customs applications, with knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
- Language Skills: Very good command of English and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to Travel: Availability for occasional travel as needed.
