Finance & Control Officer [Netherlands]


 

Your role

As an experienced Finance & Control Officer, you have an eye for both accounting and product control. You have a strong product knowledge, and you are also mindful of IFRS accounting principles.

You will collaborate in a team to control daily accounting, prepare daily and monthly reports. Furthermore, analyze and explain developments of the figures compared to external developments. Finally liaise with Treasury and Risk. You will participate in cross functional teams in which you will represent Finance in various projects.

You have affinity with financial markets which will help you analyze FMO positions, its products, valuations, modeling, and risks. You are confident, excited to learn, and meticulous when interpreting data. You like the financial complexity of the products we work with. And you are keen on delivering your part in bringing our financial reporting to an even higher level. You produce reports in which you draw conclusions and make recommendations. You are interested in how processes are managed to ensure the overall quality. You drive change and are always on the look-out for improvements. You can make yourself familiar with the difficult environments we operate in. You are quick to translate current events into appropriate action.

Your team

The Finance and Control team is part of the Finance, Impact & Data department. The team consists of 24 professionals, who are responsible for daily everyday Accounting, (Regulatory) Reporting, IFRS Policies and Controlling. Due to the international and diverse composition of the team, we primarily use English for day-to-day communication.

Your background

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Controlling or similar degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar positions within investment management, private equity or banking.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and standards.
  • Financial markets are always evolving, which requires constantly new insights in the analyzes we prepare. IT requirements and external regulations also change constantly. We are looking for your creativity and ideas that will make us better.
  • You are curious about underlying causes, you reason logically, and you have an eye for detail. You can clearly set out your interpretation of data in reports, and your advice is well-founded and precise. As a Finance & Control Officer, you enjoy working freely within your area of expertise. You desire to understand the root problems. This knowledge will enable you to supply parties with appropriate data and advice.
  • We are looking for an ambitious professional who combines knowledge with a hands-on mentality. You listen and ask questions. You have a helicopter view and are intrinsically eager to work in Finance.
