As a Lead Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Bike and Snow categories to build categories & marketing plans that deliver on the key category customer missions.
You will be responsible for achieving key category objectives including critical path, financial targets, range and stock management, price and promotion, and store execution; own supplier relationships within the category, including terms of trade negotiation, and supporting the Head of Merchandise as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creation of range & marketing plans to deliver sales, margin & GMROI results to budget
- Manage critical path and deliverables
- Prepare and maintain category strategies
- Monitor market trends and forecast stock requirements to achieve category and supplier market share.
- Support the growth and development of the team and monitor delivery of KPIs
To succeed in the role, we are looking for an individual who has both strong Buying & leadership experience.
Being able to demonstrate both strong strategic skills and the ability to work at a tactical level within the merchandise team will be critical to the success of this role.
You will be commercially astute, articulate and be able to show in-depth understanding of best practices. Innate leadership abilities are essential, and through your extensive leadership experience; you will be required to manage the complexities & changes of a high-performance environment, all while driving the wider team engagement.
Additionally, you will have:
- Experience in supplier negotiations with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates high levels of accuracy and numerical competence
- Tertiary qualification in related discipline
- A personal interest or professional experience in one of the categroies is preferred
